Spills of Eden is a Marketing limited company registered in Kenya as a company that deals with marketing of herbs, spices and other products fortified by the natural herbs. The company has its physical address along Ngong road next to Delta petrol station. Spills of Eden operates in partnership with Nimebarikiwa Investments Limited a registered business enterprise exclusively dealing in farming and processing of all types of spices, medicinal herbs, fruits and cereals from Uganda. The company was registered in 2013 and commenced operations immediately thereafter.
runs a demonstration farm for organic farming in the Nakaseke district of Uganda. Various rare herbs and spices are planted here and are being multiplied for distribution to small holder farmer groups who are helped to grow using organic methods. The company then buys from them for processing into various natural herbal products or spices.
The main purpose of starting the business was to create income generating opportunities for small-holder rural farmers by providing a market for their produce. At the same time the promoters were keen to promote usage of natural remedies which have been proven to have no negative side effects like conventional medicine
The company has a large variety
of products like moringa, dried paw paws, soursop (graviola), gotu kola, pepper
mint, Echinacea, dandelion, yarrow, thyme, rosemary, marigold, oregano,
hibiscus, stinging nettle, stevia, chia seeds, Shea butter and many others.
Most of these are processed or blended to make various products like herbal
food supplements, herbal cures, cooking spices, essential oils, cosmetics,
natural oils and herbal teas. The products which are marketed through “SPILLS OF EDEN” have proven to be highly popular here in Uganda and in the regional
markets of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Congo. We have received very positive
enquiries from USA, Netherlands and Japan. All our products are first submitted
to the Makerere University based National Chemotherapeutic Research Institute
for analysis and approval before they are availed to the market. More
validation of products is carried out in Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) in Kenya to ensure their safety
for human consumption.
